We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to support and assist with all aspects of quality, aid in the development of inspection reports, maintain calibrated measuring equipment, and identify areas for quality control improvement. Additionally, you will produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team who works collaboratively with engineering, quality, product managers, and usability experts to make our products user-friendly. This position calls for a well-organized person who has a fine eye for detail, enjoys working with technology and people and possesses good oral and written communication skills.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Collect samples from all incoming raw materials and report findings to Quality Manager. Perform all batching and finished goods quality testing as required throughout the day. Verify all products meet company and customer requirements/specifications. Verify the accuracy of labels for all finished products. Ensure tolerances are held by performing visual and dimensional inspection of finished product. Maintain timely and accurate documentation and checklist for all inspections. Determine appropriate number of products to inspect according to statistical sampling plans. Visually inspect fine features and measure small tolerance features using standard inspection tools. Read and interpret drawings dimensioned in accordance with
ANSI Y14.5.
Interpret and validate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Use ISO limits and fit tolerances for shaft and hole clearances. Appropriately use measurement tools to facilitate inspections. Report inspection findings, including non-conformances, according to an established process, which may include informing appropriate stakeholders. Inspect electromechanical assemblies (cables, harnesses, assemblies) in accordance with IPC 620 Coordinate and monitor the calibration status of test equipment and tools. Monitors select production operations to ensure that they meet quality standards. Provide recommendations to the assembly or production process to improve quality. Assist in production builds as needed. Independently gather information from appropriate personnel to develop, organize, and generate technical work instructions for assembly of electromechanical devices. Working hands on with other team members to fully understand the build process. Capture clear photos of important assembly details to use in documentation. Support development of standard operating procedures and other process documentation as needed. Support development of documentation templates. Revise and/or update existing documentation to incorporate redlines and/or meet current standards. Obtain a deep understanding of manufacturing, engineering and/or quality processes and translate information into simple, easy-to-read content. Evaluate current content and develop innovative approaches for improvement in collaboration with senior team members. Demonstrate a solid understanding of revision control and configuration control. Work with engineering support to compile information, develop, and publish detailed user guides and technical manuals for end users of automation work cells. Investigate quality issues by gathering relevant data and performing root cause analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Monitor the effectiveness of CAPA solutions and ensure timely documentation and closure of CAPA records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements. Train new quality technicians or production staff on inspection procedures. Analyze quality data trends and report findings to management. Use statistical tools (e.g., SPC, Pareto charts) to identify recurring issues. Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Highschool diploma or equivalent required. 2-3 years' experience in a Quality Technician role Hands-on experience in a technical field highly preferred; preferably in manufacturing of electromechanical assemblies. Ability to learn quickly and understand complex topics. Previous experience generating written material and/or procedural materials. Experience creating, developing, and documenting written processes & work instructions. Experience in root cause and corrective action Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
