Job Description

Position Summary The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, preventing defects, and supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities Inspection & Testing Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming materials, in‑process parts, and finished products. Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments. Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Conduct first‑article inspections and document results. Documentation & Reporting Record inspection findings accurately in logs, forms, or digital systems. Identify, tag, and segregate non‑conforming materials or products. Prepare detailed reports for defects, deviations, and quality issues. Maintain traceability and proper documentation for audits. Quality Assurance Support Assist in root‑cause analysis and corrective action activities. Communicate quality concerns to production, engineering, and supervisors. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve processes. Participate in internal audits and compliance checks as needed. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies. Ensure inspection processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Experience in manufacturing, inspection, or quality control. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Proficiency with measurement tools and inspection equipment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Experience with ISO, API, or other industry quality standards. Familiarity with NDT methods (visual, magnetic particle, UT, etc.) if applicable. Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. Quality certifications (ASQ, NDT Level I/II, etc.). Key Competencies Attention to detail and strong observational skills. Analytical thinking for identifying defects and root causes. Communication skills to collaborate with production and leadership. Integrity and consistency in applying quality standards. Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. Working Conditions Manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to machinery and noise. Requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel‑toe boots. May require shift work depending on production needs.
