SHIFT:

2nd shift. Job Summary Interprets print dimension against part to ensure product meets specifications and customer requirements. Conducts a wide variety of inspections on component parts and quality processes. Uses predetermined method of inspection and the full range of equipment enabling the inspector to determine product acceptability. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• (25%) Performs dimensional and visual inspection of FPI, LPI, RESUB and INFO inspections as well as raw material inspections.
• (20%) Walks throughout assigned area to perform visual inspections of parts. Trains operators to identify defects by using work instructions, IPC Sheets or Quality Alerts Issued.
• (10%) Participates and supports all department engineers on capability studies, gage R&Rs and tool proofs.
• (10%) Interprets part specifications from blueprints and other computer drawings.
• (10%) Utilizes precision measuring devices and equipment to ensure parts comply with established specifications. Trains operators to use these devices.
• (10%) Maintains accurate records of inspections and prepares lists of defects. Communicates results to operators. Communicates results to others as necessary.
• (5%) Writes non-conforming material reports as needed.
• (5%) Enters into Excel spreadsheets daily inspection information for dock audits.
• (5%) Works with Tool & Die Makers to provide information relevant to die repair process.
• Performs other duties as required. Education and Experience Profile
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of related experience required.

Required Skills Technical/Functional Competencies:

• Minimum of two years previous experience performing quality department inspections using measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, hardness testers, optical comparator, dial indicators, gauge pins, radius gauges, spectrometers, Running CMM Programs and interpreting blueprints as required.
• Able to read and interpret engineering specifications.
• Able to make decisions concerning acceptability of subjective quality characteristics including disposition of non-conforming material.
• Able to solve problems.
• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office Word and Excel).
• Must be organized and able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
• Must have good communication skills, and be able to work well with others.
