SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance with internal and external standards. This position is responsible for identifying and addressing non-conforming materials, maintaining inspection records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The technician has the authority to accept or reject products and works closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence. The ideal candidate is a proactive and reliable professional who upholds company standards and fosters a respectful workplace culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to those listed in the Summary section above, the following are duties necessary for the position. Collaborate with the Quality Manager to enhance Dock to Quality (DTQ) inspection processes and documentation. Perform AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspections and ensure proper documentation and storage of DTQ records. Manage the Quality Control hold area and monitor items under review. Participate in Cycle Count and Customer Response System meetings to support inventory accuracy and customer satisfaction. Support the Calibration Program by coordinating equipment servicing, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance. Inspect returned goods under the Return Goods Authorization (RGA) process and assist in disposition evaluations. Review and archive Vendor Certificates of Compliance and Certificates of Analysis. Lead and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including: Generating NCRs for incoming materials, Communicating findings to relevant teams, Trending NCRs and initiating corrective actions with suppliers Maintaining the Vendor Performance Audit Log Conduct internal audits per schedule and assist in documentation and follow-up actions. Maintain traceability and material preservation programs, ensuring proper documentation and inspection. Ensure compliance with quality procedures and documentation standards. Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
AUTHORITY
This position has the authority and responsibility to stop work if a condition poses a risk to safety, quality, or compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree from accredited school preferred. 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance or regulatory compliance. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical documents, engineering drawings, and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Solid understanding of basic mathematics and statistics. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Familiarity with
ISO 9001
standards and auditing techniques preferred. Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. Skilled in using measurement tools including: Calipers Micrometers Tape Measures Taper Gauges ____________________________________________________________________________
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas of the factory. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
