Position Summary The QA/QC Technician supports quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, laboratory processes, and associated documentation meet established company, customer, and regulatory requirements. This position performs laboratory testing, supports testing and validation activities, maintains equipment calibration and validation schedules, assists with environmental monitoring, and supports product disposition and continuous quality improvement. The QA/QC Technician works closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Warehouse, EHS, and Management to maintain product quality, accurate records, and compliance with established quality and safety requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Quality Assurance and Laboratory Testing Perform quality assurance and quality control testing in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and testing requirements. Inspect, test, and verify raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. Conduct assigned chemical assays, analytical testing, and other laboratory analyses. Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and materials required for testing. Accurately document test conditions, observations, calculations, and results. Maintain sample identification and traceability throughout the testing process. Support environmental monitoring activities when required. Complete required testing and documentation within established product-disposition timelines. Testing Methods, Equipment, and Calibration Support the development, implementation, verification, and validation of new and existing testing methods. Operate laboratory instruments and equipment according to approved procedures and manufacturer requirements. Maintain calibration, verification, qualification, and validation schedules for assigned equipment. Ensure equipment is within required calibration or verification status before use. Maintain applicable equipment, calibration, validation, and maintenance records. Report equipment malfunctions, calibration concerns, or abnormal performance. Assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment and technical issues as directed. Quality Documentation and Nonconformance Complete laboratory records, testing forms, logs, worksheets, and quality documentation accurately and timely. Review test results and identify out-of-specification results, discrepancies, or potential non-conformances. Immediately report quality concerns, unusual test results, or process deviations to appropriate QA/QC personnel. Support investigations and corrective or preventive actions by providing testing information, records, and observations. Follow established procedures for materials or products placed on hold, rejected, or otherwise restricted. Maintain accurate, traceable, and confidential quality and laboratory records. Support internal, customer, regulatory, ISO, and other applicable audits. Cross-Department Coordination Coordinate with Manufacturing regarding sampling, in-process testing, production support, and product-release requirements. Coordinate with Logistics and Warehouse regarding material status, holds, releases, and other quality requirements. Coordinate with EHS regarding laboratory safety, chemical handling, waste management, and environmental requirements. Communicate quality issues that may affect production, inventory, shipping, or customer requirements to appropriate personnel. Maintain professional and effective working relationships across departments. Safety and Compliance Follow company SOPs, quality procedures, laboratory requirements, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies. Follow applicable laboratory safety, chemical-handling, waste-management, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements. Properly label, handle, store, and dispose of laboratory chemicals, samples, reagents, and waste. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Immediately report spills, leaks, chemical exposures, unsafe conditions, injuries, and near-miss incidents. Participate in required safety, environmental, laboratory, quality, and job-specific training. Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory and work areas. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Associate or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field preferred. Relevant laboratory, quality, manufacturing, or technical experience may be considered in combination with education and training. Experience Zero (0) to four (4) years of quality assurance, quality control, laboratory, chemical testing, manufacturing, or related technical experience. Entry-level candidates with appropriate scientific education, laboratory training, or transferable technical skills are encouraged to apply. Experience in a chemical manufacturing, semiconductor, laboratory, or industrial environment is preferred but not required. Experience with analytical laboratory equipment, chemical testing, or quality-control procedures is preferred but not required. Licenses and Certifications No specific professional license or certification is required. Employees must complete company-required laboratory, equipment, safety, quality, and job-specific training before independently performing applicable activities. Background Screening and Regulatory Requirements Due to the nature of company operations and this position's potential access to chemical materials, laboratory areas, proprietary product information, and restricted operational areas, background screening and security requirements may apply. Employees must maintain any facility, laboratory, system, or restricted-area access required for assigned duties. Employees assigned responsibilities involving regulated materials must meet applicable training, access, documentation, and security requirements. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of QA/QC, laboratory, chemistry, and analytical testing principles. Ability to follow testing methods, SOPs, work instructions, and technical procedures. Ability to accurately collect, document, review, and communicate laboratory data. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and report unusual results, equipment concerns, and quality issues. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to learn laboratory software, quality systems, ERP systems, and other company applications. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary product, process, customer, and laboratory information. Korean language proficiency is preferred but not required.
