Position Summary The QA Inspector performs in-process and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal components to verify that products conform to customer drawings, specifications, and Tongrun quality standards. This role serves as the last line of defense before product reaches the customer. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, methodical, and experienced in interpreting technical documentation and accurately using precision measurement equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform dimensional and visual inspections of fabricated parts during in-process and final inspection stages. Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM equipment, as required by the inspection plan. Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, and customer quality requirements accurately and independently. Complete inspection records, first article documentation, and non-conformance reports accurately and promptly. Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming parts and initiate and document appropriate hold and disposition procedures. Communicate inspection findings to Production Supervisors and the QA/QC Manager promptly. Support root cause analysis and corrective action investigations as directed by the QA/QC Manager or Quality Lead. Properly handle and store inspection equipment and coordinate timely calibration as needed. Support audit preparation and QMS/EMS activities in accordance with
ISO 9001
2015 and
ISO 14001
2015 requirements. Maintain accurate and consistent quality documentation. Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to identify and resolve quality issues. What You Bring 2+ years of quality inspection experience in precision sheet metal fabrication or a comparable manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency with precision measurement tools and established inspection methods. Ability to independently read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts. Experience with non-conformance reporting and basic corrective action processes. Familiarity with
ISO 9001
quality system requirements preferred. Previous experience participating in quality audits is a plus. Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills. Consistent and accurate documentation habits. Reliable attendance and availability for the assigned shift. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to safely handle and lift fabricated parts or raw materials weighing up to35 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Ability to stand and move throughout the production area for most of the workday. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as required by the work area. Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements, including operating equipment and handling parts and tooling. Ability to safely and independently operate a pallet jack when required. Ability to assist other department team members with reasonable production-related tasks as operational needs require. Work Environment This position works on the shop floor in a precision metal fabrication environment. Working conditions may include exposure to production machinery, moderate to high noise levels, metal dust or particles, and varying temperatures.
