The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for inspecting fabricated components and assemblies to ensure they meet project specifications, drawings, and applicable standards. This position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in our fabrication and welding operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-process and final inspections on fabricated metal parts, weldments, and assemblies. Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications using blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols. Inspect weld quality and workmanship per ASME, AWS, and company standards. Document inspection results, maintain traceability records, and generate nonconformance reports as needed. Work closely with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to resolve quality issues. Ensure proper documentation for materials, heat numbers, and test reports. Support and participate in quality audits, hydrostatic testing, and customer inspections. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused inspection area.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in metal fabrication quality control or inspection. Strong understanding of welding processes (FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW). Ability to read and interpret fabrication and ASME drawings, weld symbols, and procedures. Familiarity with
AWS D1.1, ASME
Section VIII, or similar codes preferred. Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. CWI or related certification is a plus but not required.
