The Industrial Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized sewing equipment to assemble, join, reinforce, or finish garments or other textile products in accordance with established specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate industrial sewing machines (e.g., single needle, double needle, overlock, serger) to produce textile goods according to work orders or sample patterns. Read and interpret work instructions, technical drawings, or product specifications. Align and sew fabric, leather, vinyl, or other materials accurately. Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards. Perform routine maintenance on machines and report malfunctions or needed repairs. Cut excess thread and clean finished items as needed. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Meet daily production quotas and efficiency targets.
Requirements:
Prior experience with industrial sewing machines strongly preferred. Ability to read and follow instructions, patterns, and technical specifications. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to sit or stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis Laacke & Joys participates in E-Verify.
