Responsibilities Responsible for safely operating the dry kilns and conducting housekeeping activities in each assigned area Moving loaded kiln cars into and out of the dry kilns Must be able to operate a fork truck proficiently Monitoring the computer control system used in operating the kilns to dry lumber to tight specifications Perform minor maintenance and repairs to the dry kilns Interpreting work instructions adequately and successfully completing tasks as assigned Must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills Communicating with team members and leadership to improve safety and operating performance as well as meet job expectations Ability to train new kiln workers Monitor existing employees to make sure they are performing their set duties Report abscesses to plant manager Monitor kiln room employees for safe work practices including wearing PPE Report any equipment faults or needed repairs During the training period, the pay rate is $20 per hour. Upon successful completion of the training period, the pay is increased to $22 per hour . Qualifications Applicants must attach a resume detailing education and work history Steady, documented work history Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship Able to perform basic math and basic computer skills Good communication skills Must be team oriented and take direction from the plant manager Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment Ability to work in extreme heat, humidity and cold Ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping, and bending Willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills We are seeking a dedicated Kiln Tender Team Lead to oversee the operation of our wood drying kilns and lead a team of kiln operators. This role involves managing kiln processes, ensuring optimal drying conditions, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating production schedules. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, machining skills, and leadership abilities to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
