Career Opportunity:

Smurfit Westrock Solvay Mill is seeking a Utilities Specialist for their Water Recycling Facility. The Utilities Technician supports the mill through operation and maintenance of the boiler system, water treatment facility and chiller systems.

Pay Range:

$40.30/hour - $46.05/hour Starting rate is $40.30/hour; employees progress through pay range upon completion of training. How you will impact

Smurfit Westrock:

• Perform tasks as assigned to support line team emergent needs
• Know and follow all Safety, Mill and ISO procedures
• Perform shutdown/startup tasks as assigned
• Attend and participate in HSG and Team Meetings
• Operate Industrial mobile equipment
• Perform and document mobile equipment inspections
• Writes work order requests as required
• Operate various computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Panther System, Etc.
• Conducts proper shift relief
• Maintain shift logs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned What you need to succeed:
• Minimum high school diploma/GED and 4 years\u2019 experience with operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment OR boilers and steam generating systems
• Must have safety conscious work habits
• Effective interpersonal and team skills
• Effective trouble-shooter with ability to plan, organize, and execute work
• Possess initiative; attention to detail; follow-through
• Possess demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze complex operational problems in emergency situations
• Computer literate
