Refrigeration / Boiler Room Operator - 1st Shift Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration / Boiler Room Operator to maintain and monitor refrigeration, boiler, HVAC, and related plant systems in a busy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have prior boiler operator experience and strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred. This is a union position with competitive pay, an attendance incentive, and opportunities for overtime.
Pay & Schedule Pay:
$28.92-$33.20 per hour, depending on experience

May work up to 10 hours per day Weekend work: May be required Union position Responsibilities Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain boiler, refrigeration, HVAC, and related plant systems Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment involving ammonia and other refrigerants Perform daily inspections and operational checks of refrigeration and plant equipment Monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, coolers, HVAC systems, and related equipment Perform scheduled maintenance on evaporators, condensers, and other refrigeration equipment Monitor, clean, and repair plant systems including condensers and filtration systems Identify equipment issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime Change and clean filters as needed Maintain accurate equipment logs, records, checklists, and other required documentation Follow OSHA, EPA, GMP, and plant safety requirements Follow all Lockout/Tagout and other required safety procedures Request parts and supplies as needed Maintain clean and organized work areas Complete required paperwork and maintenance documentation Qualifications Prior boiler operator experience required Minimum of 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience preferred/required Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems strongly preferred Knowledge of plant safety and GMP requirements Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans Knowledge of planned maintenance practices Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks Strong communication and organizational skills Basic computer and spreadsheet skills Ability to complete work and purchase requests RETA Level 1 Industrial experience preferred Must be able to work scheduled hours and required overtime Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and reach Ability to work around machinery and moving equipment Ability to work in cold, wet, hot, humid, and noisy environments Ability to work safely in a manufacturing/production facility Work Environment This position works in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to: Boiler and engine room conditions Refrigeration and ammonia systems Cold and wet production areas Extremely hot production areas Mechanical equipment and conveyors Electrical systems Noise and other industrial hazards Why Apply? $28.92-$33.20/hour based on experience Additional $2.25/hour attendance incentive 1st shift opportunity with overtime opportunities Work with industrial refrigeration, boiler, and plant systems If you have boiler operator experience and a background in industrial refrigeration or plant operations, apply today!
