You will be responsible for handling intricate tooling systems, resolving production-related challenges, and performing necessary modifications to maintain high quality standards, while also contributing to ongoing manufacturing efficiency improvements. Your Responsibilities Create and assemble precise new tool sets, including eyelet-specific tooling, transfer fingers, and inspection gages, by interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications. Apply advanced shop math and trigonometry to ensure all tools are built within strict tolerance requirements. Perform manual finishing tasks such as grinding, filing, contouring, and fitting to achieve exact tool specifications. Validate new tooling through initial sample runs to secure necessary Quality Assurance sign-offs. Execute heat-treating processes for tools according to standard operating protocols. Fabricate replacement components and perform necessary machinery repairs to support operations. Manage machine changeovers by removing existing tooling and installing new setups for upcoming production cycles. Verify the integrity of each station and perform fine-tuning to guarantee the output meets quality standards. Run initial production batches, verify part dimensions, and present the first-piece samples to the Quality Assurance team. Analyze production interruptions to identify the root cause and scope of any tooling-related issues. Optimize production by adjusting feed rates, speeds, or repairing damaged tooling components. Collaborate with maintenance technicians and electrical staff to resolve complex equipment issues. Provide guidance to machine operators regarding correct equipment usage following a tool change. Input production metrics and SPC data into the digital tracking system. Contribute to a collaborative team atmosphere within a cell-based manufacturing environment. Help maintain a safe and organized working environment for the entire team. These duties are centered on the core requirements of the role, including the management of deep-draw transfer press systems, tool fabrication, changeover processes, quality verification, and operational troubleshooting. Qualifications Ideal applicants will possess practical expertise in tool-and-die applications, specifically involving deep draw, eyelet, or transfer press production tooling. While completion of a state-certified apprenticeship is viewed favorably, it is not a mandatory requirement. Compensation The hourly pay rate ranges from $29 to $48, determined by your specific background and skill level. Benefits Availability of both 1st and 2nd shift schedules. Ensure part accuracy through precision measurement techniques. Execute repairs on molds, dies, and various tools. Manage the setup of complex die and mold systems. Interpret technical blueprints with high accuracy.
