3009161436-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Samtec is seeking a skilled Toolmaker to support our advanced electronic interconnect manufacturing operations in New Albany, IN. In this hands-on role, you will build, modify, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures that keep high-speed, high-reliability production lines running at peak performance. You will interpret blueprints and CAD models, set up and operate manual/CNC machining equipment, and verify tight tolerances using precision measuring tools. Working in a people-centric, collaborative culture, you will partner with engineering and production to solve problems, improve tooling performance, and support continuous innovation and quality. Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing lines Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to build tooling to tight tolerances Set up and operate manual and CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and other shop equipment Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure tooling accuracy and repeatability Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement improvements to enhance quality and throughput Collaborate with engineering and production to develop new or modified tooling solutions Maintain preventive maintenance and documentation for all tools and fixtures Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in the tool room Required Skills Tool and die making CNC machining Manual milling and turning Surface and cylindrical grinding Blueprint reading GD&T interpretation Precision measurement (micrometers, gauges, CMM) CAD/CAM familiarity Tool troubleshooting and repair Preventive maintenance Shop math and trigonometry
