Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled <
US DRIVER LICENSE
> Certified Water Operator to join our dynamic team. This vital role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining water treatment and wastewater systems to ensure the delivery of safe, clean water in compliance with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, technical expertise, and a passion for environmental stewardship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to community health and sustainability through hands-on management of water treatment processes. Duties Operate and control water treatment and wastewater systems using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections, data collection, and analysis of water quality parameters to maintain compliance with environmental standards. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of water treatment equipment, pumps, and industrial pumps to ensure continuous operation. Manage heavy equipment operation safely during system maintenance or upgrades, adhering strictly to safety regulations and PPE protocols. Monitor water utility distribution networks, wastewater systems, and treatment plant processes for efficiency and environmental compliance. Collect samples, perform laboratory tests, and document operational data accurately for reporting purposes. Assist in the training of team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and system maintenance best practices. Qualifications Valid <
US DRIVER LICENSE
> with a clean driving record is required. Proven experience working in water treatment or wastewater treatment plants with knowledge of wastewater systems and water treatment equipment operation. Strong mechanical knowledge related to industrial pump maintenance and repair. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and automation technology used in water utilities. Experience working in the energy & utilities sector is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment as needed. Basic math skills combined with analysis skills for data interpretation and troubleshooting. Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance standards, and PPE use is essential. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities; ability to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently.
