Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance / Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for monitoring production processes to ensure finished goods meet Calbee America's quality standards and customer specifications. This role verifies adherence to food safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines while supporting the maintenance of quality control documentation and processes. The QA / Sanitation Supervisor plays an essential role in ensuring safe, high-quality snacks that our customers can trust. This position assists QA Manager, and when QA Manager is not available, will serve as back-up leader in QA and Sanitation Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor production lines to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. Verify cleanliness and sanitation of equipment post-cleaning. Perform and document monitoring activities for Critical Control Points (CCPs), such as metal detection. Verify the (CCPs) and corrective actions. Identify and report non-conforming products or processes; assist with corrective actions. Maintain accurate, timely records and documentation. Assist QA Manager to oversee QA/QC Tech and Sanitation team to ensure all assigned tasks are completed in timely manner. Communicate with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to resolve quality issues. Assist in training production employees on quality and food safety expectations. Participate in GMP, SOP, HACCP, and SQF training sessions and apply best practices on the floor. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or University with Food Science or similar field; or four plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of GMPs, sanitation, and quality testing procedures. HACCP certified, SQF practitioner, PCQI certified. Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate records. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus.
