About the Company SIP Manufacturing opened its doors in 2018 as a small two-line beverage manufacturing facility in Lake Elsinore, CA, producing only 2-5 pallets of product per day. Since then, we have grown to producing over 10 truckloads of product per day across multiple production lines while serving a diversified customer base. Today, our products are distributed throughout the United States, and we continue to invest in our growth, people, and manufacturing capabilities. About the Role The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading the sanitation department to ensure the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance. This position supervises sanitation associates and janitorial staff, provides training and coaching, oversees daily sanitation operations, and ensures all cleaning activities are completed safely and effectively. The Sanitation Supervisor partners closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse leadership to support operational goals while maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and company policies. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Leadership & Supervision Supervise, coach, and develop Sanitation Associates and Janitorial staff. Assign daily work schedules and prioritize sanitation activities to support production needs. Conduct employee training, onboarding, and cross-training to ensure team competency. Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance documentation. Participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and employee development in partnership with management and Human Resources. Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment. Ensure adequate staffing levels and assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and shift coverage. Sanitation Operations Oversee daily sanitation activities for production equipment, processing areas, warehouse, offices, and facility grounds. Verify that all sanitation procedures are completed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), SSOPs, GMPs, and food safety requirements. Conduct routine inspections to ensure sanitation standards are consistently maintained. Monitor and verify sanitation effectiveness through visual inspections and required documentation. Maintain chemical inventories, janitorial supplies, sanitation equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure chemicals are stored, labeled, mixed, and used according to manufacturer specifications and safety requirements. Coordinate deep cleaning schedules and special sanitation projects. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with
FDA, GMP, HACCP, OSHA, SQF/BRC
(if applicable), and all company food safety and sanitation programs. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by maintaining sanitation records and documentation. Investigate sanitation-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure employees follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE. Report equipment malfunctions, facility concerns, or sanitation deficiencies to the appropriate departments. Facility Maintenance Ensure lockers, restrooms, hallways, breakrooms, offices, parking lots, exterior grounds, and common areas remain clean and organized. Coordinate sanitation activities around production schedules to minimize downtime. Operate equipment, including sit-down forklifts, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and other sanitation equipment as needed. Administrative Responsibilities Complete sanitation documentation accurately and on time. Maintain inventory records and submit purchase requests for sanitation supplies. Prepare reports related to sanitation performance, staffing, and supply usage. Participate in production meetings and communicate sanitation priorities across departments. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Associate degree or related technical education preferred. Minimum of 2 years of sanitation experience in a food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or people leadership experience. Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety regulations, and sanitation best practices. Experience with chemical handling and sanitation equipment. Forklift certification or ability to become certified. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Requirements Must be able to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and reach throughout the shift. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be comfortable working in wet, cold, hot, and noisy manufacturing environments. Must be able to safely operate sanitation equipment and forklifts. Must be able to wear required PPE for extended periods. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Must communicate effectively with employees across all departments. Must be available to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as business needs require. Must consistently operate in a safe manner and follow all company safety policies.
