Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Water Distribution Operator and become a vital part of maintaining a safe, reliable, and efficient water distribution system. In this role, you'll help participate in the operation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution infrastructure, as well as the completion of Julie locates and the installation of new services. Your expertise will help deliver clean, safe water while adhering to strict safety regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced water treatment and distribution equipment, contributing directly to public health and environmental sustainability. Responsibilities Operate and monitor water distribution systems, including pumps, valves, and control systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on water treatment equipment, pumps, and wastewater systems to ensure optimal performance. Perform heavy equipment operation, including construction machinery and industrial pumps, following safety protocols and PPE guidelines. Collect data related to water quality, system pressure, flow rates, and environmental compliance; analyze findings to identify issues or areas for improvement. Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational logs for regulatory compliance. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with water treatment and wastewater systems; perform repairs or coordinate with specialized technicians for complex repairs. Assist in the installation of new infrastructure projects involving plumbing, construction experience, and heavy lifting tasks. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in pump operation, equipment repair, and industrial pump maintenance. Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and water treatment technology. Experience working in wastewater treatment plants or water utility distribution systems with a focus on environmental compliance. Ability to perform basic math calculations essential for analysis skills related to flow rates, chemical dosing, and system measurements. Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, PPE use, and hazardous materials handling. Construction experience combined with plumbing skills for infrastructure upgrades or repairs. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance and system troubleshooting.
Pay:
From $26.01 per hour
