Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater Maintenance Technician, where you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment systems for a public utility. Your expertise will help maintain optimal plant performance, support safety standards, and uphold our commitment to sustainable operations. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, motors, and control systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills. Operate and calibrate precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to assess system performance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Follow safety protocols related to high voltage systems and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Support emergency responses by performing quick repairs or adjustments during system failures or incidents. Collaborate with team members and external vendors for technical sales support or specialized repairs when necessary. Ability to work extended hours, including nights, evenings and/or weekends and holidays when required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license Have a CDL License or the ability to obtain one Must be able to lift a minumum of 50lbs Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with industrial mechanics, hydraulics, HVAC/R, and electrical systems. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and control diagrams for troubleshooting machinery. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools accurately. Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking and documentation. Electrical experience including working with low voltage and high voltage systems safely. Excellent analysis skills to identify root causes of equipment failures quickly and efficiently. Strong customer service orientation when interacting with internal teams or external vendors. Effective communication skills in English for clear documentation and collaboration across departments.
