Overview Join our dynamic team as a Water Plant Operator and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of water treatment and water distribution facilities. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for communicating with plant operators to ensure proper water treatment processes, maintaining equipment and infrastructure around water plant and in distribution system , and collecting and submitting critical data to LDH to uphold high-quality standards. Your expertise will help deliver clean, safe water to communities while supporting environmental compliance and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals eager to contribute to public health and sustainability through hands-on technical work. Responsibilities Oversee water treatment treatment systems, ensuring optimal performance. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, performing repairs or maintenance as needed to prevent downtime. Collect, analyze, record, and submit data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance for reporting and compliance purposes. Perform mechanical tasks such as plumbing repairs, excavation, equipment calibration, and troubleshooting. Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, maintenance activities, safety checks, and incident reports. Assist with construction projects or upgrades within the plant environment and distribution to improve system capacity or efficiency. Conduct analysis of water treatment processes to identify opportunities for optimization or troubleshooting issues promptly. Follow safety protocols diligently while operating heavy equipment or working in potentially hazardous environments. Qualifications Mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, plumbing, or general maintenance within industrial settings is a plus. Excellent analysis skills to interpret operational data and troubleshoot system issues efficiently. At least Class 3 certifications in Water Treatment, Production, and Distribution from LDH. Valid driver's license and High School diploma or GED.
