Permanent Employment Benefits Help for . The Treater is responsible for operating and monitoring the wood preservation process using creosote and other treatment chemicals. This position ensures that all wood products are treated according to specifications and in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The Treater plays a critical role in maintaining product quality and plant efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Operate treatment cylinders and high-pressure systems to apply creosote to wood products (e.g., railroad ties, utility poles). Load and unload wood into and from treatment cylinders using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment. Monitor temperature, pressure, and cycle times to ensure treatment standards are met. Perform routine inspections of treatment equipment and report malfunctions or safety concerns. Mix and handle treatment chemicals safely according to Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and company procedures. Record treatment data, batch logs, and production reports accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety policies, including PPE usage and hazardous material handling. Assist in general plant duties as needed, including maintenance and yard work.

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Revolving week 7:00pm - 7:00am
Skills:
Experience in industrial or chemical processing preferred; wood treatment experience is a plus
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, gauges, and schematics.
