JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Sanitation & Utility Supervisor to support a fast-paced, large-scale food production operation. This position works closely with department leadership to oversee daily operations, lead frontline supervisors and team members, maintain high standards of sanitation and safety, and ensure operational goals are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will be a visible and engaged leader who sets clear expectations, develops employees, holds teams accountable, and promotes a respectful, performance-driven workplace. This individual must be comfortable stepping into full departmental leadership responsibilities when needed. Qualifications High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar operational environment, preferably food production, manufacturing, hospitality, or large-scale kitchen operations. Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience supervising multiple hourly employees. Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and de-escalate challenging situations. Working knowledge of workplace safety, HR practices, and employment-related requirements. Understanding of operational processes, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a rapidly changing environment. Operations Oversee daily sanitation and cleaning operations to ensure equipment, utensils, service items, and work areas are properly cleaned and available to support production. Monitor workflow, productivity, staffing, and operational priorities. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational disruptions. Anticipate potential issues and develop appropriate action plans. Coordinate with supporting departments regarding supplies, inventory, and operational needs. Escalate concerns and provide recommendations to senior management. Step into operational functions when necessary to maintain workflow and service levels. Quality, Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with applicable food safety, workplace safety, quality, environmental, and operational requirements. Promote a safe and healthy work environment through hazard identification, risk reduction, and employee engagement. Support continuous improvement initiatives and established management systems. Ensure employees receive appropriate training and understand applicable procedures and expectations. Communicate operational goals, expectations, and performance effectively to the team. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on leadership position within an operational environment. The role requires frequent standing, walking, gripping, handling objects, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. The position may occasionally require bending, climbing stairs or ladders, reaching overhead, and working in varying temperatures. The work environment may include exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, dust, and cleaning chemicals.
