Position Summary The Welder is responsible for welding components by performing high-quality MIG welding in a machine shop environment. The ideal candidate must be able to read and understand weld symbols to identify weld locations and requirements, and produce welds that meet company quality standards. This position requires a minimum of three (3) years of MIG welding experience using both solid wire and flux-core wire processes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Read, interpret, and understand weld symbols. Determine proper weld locations, weld sizes, and weld sequences from engineering drawings. Perform MIG welding using both solid wire and flux-core wire processes. Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding and cleaning surfaces. Inspect welds to ensure quality, strength, and compliance with drawing requirements. Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and fit-up accuracy. Repair and rework weldments as required. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation and Experience High school diploma or GED Minimum of three (3) years of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environment. Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environment. Ability to read and understand weld symbols on fabrication drawings and determine where and how welds are to be applied. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in MIG welding using: Solid Wire (GMAW) Flux-Core Wire (FCAW) Ability to fit and assemble fabricated parts prior to welding. Strong understanding of welding symbols and blueprint interpretation. Ability to use measuring and inspection tools accurately. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance and dependable work habits. Preferred Qualifications Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Experience with fabrication equipment such as saws, shears and iron workers. Ability to perform basic layout and fitting operations. Forklift experience or certification. Welding certifications are a plus but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance. Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, sparks, and dust. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Environment Manufacturing or machine shop setting. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear. May require occasional overtime to meet production schedules.
