Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our up and coming team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, cutting, and assembling metal components according to detailed technical drawings and specifications. You will play a vital part in ensuring high-quality metal fabrication projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about metalwork, construction, and mechanical fabrication to contribute to diverse projects across various industries. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide welding and assembly processes. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and measuring tapes to ensure precise cuts, measurements, and fittings of sheet metal and other metal materials. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, welding, grinding, and assembling parts in accordance with project specifications. Operate rigging equipment, pipe threading tools, plasma cutters, and machining tools to support fabrication tasks on-site or in the shop environment. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols including proper use of hand tools, power tools, rigging techniques, forklift operation, and construction site safety procedures. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks involving metal materials such as sheet metal fabrication or mechanical assembly. Ensure quality control by inspecting finished welds using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and visual inspection methods; interpret technical drawings for accurate assembly. Support manufacturing processes by adhering to project timelines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety compliance. Skills Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick; knowledge of welding standards preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical blueprints, and technical specifications accurately. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools for fabrication accuracy. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication shop operations including machining, pipe threading, plasma cutting, soldering, and assembly processes. Familiarity with rigging procedures for lifting heavy materials safely on construction sites or within fabrication environments. Experience operating forklifts and power tools safely in compliance with OSHA or local safety standards. Strong understanding of ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping when applicable; capable of interpreting technical requirements for manufacturing projects. Basic math skills including shop math necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks. Ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately while applying mechanical knowledge during assembly or welding processes.
