Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Your expertise will ensure high-quality craftsmanship while adhering to safety standards and industry regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and fabrication skills to contribute to our company's success. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project specifications. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, and machining equipment. Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication. Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during assembly, welding, and fabrication processes. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the fabrication shop while following safety protocols at all times. Collaborate with team members on project assembly, quality control, and troubleshooting fabrication issues to meet project deadlines. Requirements Proven construction site experience or background in metal fabrication environments. Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices. Experience with plasma cutting, machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly processes. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication shop operations, and safety protocols adherence. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills including shop math necessary for precise measurements and calculations. Construction site experience preferred but not mandatory; a strong foundation in mechanical fabrication is essential. Certification or training in AWS standards or equivalent welding certifications is highly desirable. Must own your own welding hood. Employer does not provide hoods to welders.
