MIG/TIG Welder Rockford Specialties - 1.0 Loves Park, IL Job Details Full-time $15 - $19 an hour 5 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Mechanical blueprint interpretation Blueprint specification interpretation Packing TIG welding English Shop math Dimensional measurements Precision measurement in machining Data entry Gas metal arc welding Full Job Description For 40 years Rockford Specialties has provided custom-made wire and laser-cut component products to the OEM, Point-of-Purchase, Food Service, Consumer Products, and Laboratory & Medical Supply industries. Over the years, we have continued to invest in our facilities, our equipment and our staff to maintain production capabilities that are second to none. We are seeking a qualified candidate who is proficient in both MIG and TIG Welding.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols) and inspect welds for accuracy prepare the product to be welded by performing such tasks as grinding, drilling and cutting Change gas tanks and wire as needed Ensure that all devices are properly setup and used in a safe manner Monitor equipment and keep it well maintained; report all equipment issues to a lead/manager Package finished products according to specification and deliver to the appropriate location Record all required data in Job Boss or other designated ERP/database Adhere to Company policies as described in employee handbook Follow all procedures and quality standards as they pertain to this position Maintain a safe and orderly work environment Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Must have previous experience related to MIG and TIG welding MIG and TIG education and certifications highly preferred Must have good mathematical ability and be able to read/interpret blueprints Must be able to use precision measuring devices, such as calipers, micrometers, protractors and tape measurers Must be able to read, write and speak English An example of a typical weld test for the position is doing MIG and TIG welding on 18 gage Tplate, using 1/16 inch filler rod (mild steel) and a 312 wire lap weld.
