Established in 1988, Corn Island Shipyard has quietly become the premier builder of custom barges and specialized marine structures. We produce vessels that are classed ABS as well as unclassed vessels based upon our customers' requirements. We currently have the capacity to build vessels up to 600 feet in length and 108 feet in width. Job Description

• Execute basic welding techniques using marine workshop standards and safety protocols
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions
• Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
• Occasional operation of overhead crane
• Other duties as assigned Job Requirements
• AWS certification is preferred
• Prior experience in a shipyard, construction, or similar industrial environment is preferred
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
• Knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety practices and regulations
• Ability to work in outdoor and indoor shipyard environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and fumes
• Must wear steel toed boots that cover the ankles
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), climb ladders, and work in confined spaces and at heights
• Wear required protective gear and equipment

Schedule :

Dayshift:

Mon-Thur 6:00am - 4:30pm Friday 6:00am-2:30pm

Nightshift:

Mon-Thur 4:30pm-2:30am Friday- 2:30pm-10:30pm o Overtime paid after 8 hours Weekends as needed We are an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) company!
