Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise cuts and welds. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal, pipe, and other metal components utilizing plasma cutters, power tools, soldering equipment, and machining tools. Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints for fabrication of complex assemblies following ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards. Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication shop equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain quality control by inspecting welds and fabricated parts against specifications using calipers, measuring instruments, and visual inspections. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high safety standards. Experience Proven experience working on construction sites or in a fabrication shop environment involving metal fabrication projects. Demonstrated proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers for precise fabrication work. Experience working with sheet metal materials and performing pipe threading or plasma cutting operations preferred. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices is advantageous. Ability to operate power tools safely while following all safety protocols; previous construction site experience is a plus. Join us if you're passionate about metal fabrication and welding! $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
