Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Welder - MIG 2nd Shift and bring your expertise in metal fabrication to life! This energetic role is perfect for skilled welders eager to contribute to high-quality projects in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for performing MIG welding on various metal materials, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring all work adheres to industry standards. Your mechanical knowledge and precision will help us deliver durable, safe, and expertly crafted products. Duties Set up welding equipment and prepare materials according to project specifications using hand tools and measuring instruments. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical blueprints to determine welding requirements. Perform MIG welding (Gas Metal Arc Welding) with precision on sheet metal, pipe components, and fabricated assemblies following AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use calipers, micrometers, shop math, and other measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and tolerances. Operate plasma cutters, power tools, and other fabrication machinery for cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and handling materials responsibly. Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects involving assembly, pipe threading, machining, soldering, and plasma cutting tasks. Qualifications Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal materials and sheet metal fabrication. Skilled in MIG welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), TIG welding (GTAW), and stick welding techniques. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams accurately. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices. Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements. Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including pipe threading, machining, plasma cutting, soldering, and assembly. Experience with construction sites or similar environments is highly desirable. Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence and quality workmanship using hand tools and power tools effectively.
