St Gabriel, LA Hours:

7am-330p, most weekends

Pay:

$25-$32 an hour doe Under the direction of the Production Supervisor the welder welds plate, shells, tubes, and structures to fabricate and/or repair shell and tube heat exchangers.

Essential Duties:

Performs heliarc welding, submerged arc welding, and manual welding on components as assigned. Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices. Weld tube in tube sheets. Welds tube caps with heliarc welder. Performs root passes tube sheets to shells. Performs internal quality control of welding procedures. Performs grinding and/or cleaning of welds as necessary to achieve standards. Corrects welds as necessary. Sets up and performs jobs based on shop practices and procedures. Controls own welding supply usage. Measures and directs the fitting of shell assemblies. Aids crane operator by visual and vocal signals when parts/assemblies are positioned or lifted. Perform various QC duties. Use broom and other cleaning equipment to maintain the work area in a clean, orderly environment. Assist in the tool room with documentation, record keeping, and answering employee questions. Assists in handing out welding rods/equipment and record keeping. Shipping and receiving material record keeping. Performs other duties and welding methods assigned by supervision. #westaffjobs Experience with Heat Exchanges, Shells and Tubes required.
