Job Description

Metal Fabricator $20-$25/hr depending on education/experience
Full Time Temp-to-Hire Lewiston, ME Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Welder with proficiency in various welding processes, including GTAW, FCAW, GMAW, or SAW. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of basic weld procedures and possess basic blueprint reading skills. The Welder will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of welding operations.
Essential Functions:
1. Adhere to all safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment. 2. Organize and maintain the work area for safe, clean, and efficient operations. 3. Possess working knowledge of welding, fixturing, weld wire, and filler material applications for various steel alloys, stainless, and carbon. 4. Review schedules, prioritize daily work, and examine specifications and blueprints to determine equipment, material, and tool requirements. 5. Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials/parts and notify Lead/Supervisor. 6. Have sufficient visual acuity to operate machines and visually inspect produced parts. 7. Lift and move materials as required: up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. 8. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions. 9. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience:
1. High school diploma or GED required. Technical school graduate preferred. 2. Good command of the English language, both written and spoken. 3. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work well with external and internal customers. 4. Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions. 5.
Proficient in basic mathematics:
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; use basic handheld measuring tools. 6. Related experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
