Welder (Level 1) - Build with Precision, Weld with Purpose Are you a skilled welder with 1-2 years of welding experience who takes pride in precision, craftsmanship, and getting the job done right? As a Welder at SP Industries, you'll play a critical role in supporting production by assembling, welding, and finishing high-quality weldments built to exact specifications. In this hands-on role, you'll primarily perform MIG welding on a variety of materials including sheet metal, plate, and structural steel (angle, channel, tube, and I-beams). You'll be exposed to entry level blueprint reading and component layout while working with a wide range of fabrication equipment and metal processing tools, contributing to efficient production flow while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. What You'll Do You'll play a hands-on role in building high-quality products while driving safety, precision, and efficiency. Perform MIG welding on carbon steel components according to engineering drawings and company standards. Read and interpret basic blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings Assemble and weld parts to specification Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components prior to welding Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy Safely move materials using overhead cranes and fork trucks Maintain production flow by meeting timelines and supporting team efficiency Keep a clean, organized workspace while following all safety protocols Collaborate with internal teams to ensure builds meet specifications and expectations Support additional tasks and projects as needed What You Bring High School diploma/GED OR Formal welding education required Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on welding experience Basic blueprint reading and understanding of weld symbols Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools.
