Job Description

Job Title:
Axle Machining and Welding Technician Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Axle Machining and Welding Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting spindle ends off rear truck axles, machining the axle housing on a lathe, and welding new spindle ends onto the axles. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of machining and welding processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Cut spindle ends off rear truck axles using appropriate tools and techniques. Set up and operate lathes to machine axle housings to precise specifications. Weld new spindle ends onto axles, ensuring strong, durable joints. Inspect and measure machined components to verify conformance to specifications. Maintain and troubleshoot lathe and welding equipment as needed. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output. Document work processes and maintain accurate records of completed tasks.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in machining and welding, preferably with truck axles or similar components. Proficiency in operating lathes and welding equipment. Strong understanding of machining and welding safety standards. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification in machining, welding, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
