PIPE WELDER TIG

/ Stick MIG a Plus Full-Time Pay $30-$40/hr DOE Test 6G approx. 3-inch pipe Primary Processes TIG + Stick Position Summary We are seeking an experienced 6G Pipe Welder who is confident welding fixed-position carbon-steel pipe and can pass a hands-on 6G weld test. This position is best suited for a welder with strong TIG (GTAW) and Stick (SMAW) experience. MIG (GMAW) experience is preferred and adds value, but the ability to perform quality pipe welds with TIG and Stick is the priority. Candidates should be comfortable welding around the full circumference of pipe positioned at approximately 45 degrees and producing consistent, sound welds in changing positions. What You'll Do Perform pipe welding in the 6G position with the pipe fixed at approximately 45 degrees. Use TIG and Stick welding processes to complete high-quality welds on carbon-steel pipe. Perform root, fill, and cap passes as required by the weld procedure and test requirements. Maintain proper penetration, fusion, bead profile, heat control, travel speed, and electrode/torch angle throughout the weld. Read and follow weld procedures, measurements, fabrication instructions, and basic drawings. Inspect completed welds for visual defects and correct issues before final inspection. Use grinders, fit-up tools, clamps, and other common welding/fabrication equipment safely. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area. What We're Looking For Prior professional pipe-welding experience; 3+ years of welding experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience welding fixed-position pipe, ideally including 5G and/or 6G work. Strong TIG (GTAW) and Stick (SMAW) skills; experience with MIG (GMAW) is preferred. Experience with carbon-steel pipe and common pipe-welding electrodes/filler processes. Ability to maintain weld quality while transitioning through flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead portions of a fixed pipe weld. Ability to pass the required hands-on 6G pipe weld test before placement. Industrial fabrication, mechanical piping, heavy industrial maintenance, boiler, pressure-pipe, or similar background is a strong fit. Please carefully consider the following prescreen questions: 1.
