Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder's Helper to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will assist skilled welder in preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on various construction sites and fabrication shops. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding processes, and construction operations while supporting the successful completion of projects. Duties Assist welders with material handling, including sheet metal and metal materials, ensuring proper placement for welding or fabrication tasks Prepare work areas by setting up tools, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, and verifying schematics or technical drawings for accuracy Support welding operations using MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) techniques according to AWS (American Welding Society) standards Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently Assist with rigging, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and assembly tasks on construction sites or in fabrication shops Follow safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members Support quality control by measuring components with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precision in fabrication and welding Skills Construction site experience with familiarity in metal fabrication and welding environments Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical blueprints interpretation Knowledge of various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes including sheet metal fabrication and metal materials handling Experience with rigging, pipe threading, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and machining is a plus Familiarity with safety standards such as ASME codes & standards and AWS guidelines for welding practices Ability to use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, forklift operation skills are advantageous Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings for accurate assembly and fabrication tasks Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing processes Join us to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment where safety is paramount.
