2nd Shift Position Summary The ideal candidate is committed to producing high-quality welds, works efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) using dual shield processes in accordance with
AWS D1.1
standards. Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications. Assemble and weld structural steel components according to engineering and customer requirements. Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently. Verify measurements and material fit-up prior to welding. Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Perform grinding, cleaning, and minor finishing of welded assemblies as required. Identify welding defects and perform repairs when necessary. Operate hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment safely. Maintain welding equipment and keep work areas clean and organized. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and required PPE guidelines. Support production schedules and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Minimum one (1) year of welding experience. Experience performing Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols. Ability to safely operate welding equipment and fabrication tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds. Basic math and measurement skills. Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent. Welding school certification or formal welding training. Experience welding structural steel in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Knowledge of

welding standards. Current AWS welding certification or ability to successfully complete a Piedmont Metals welding test. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proficiency in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) using dual shield processes. Strong understanding of welding techniques, metals, and filler materials. Knowledge of

welding standards and quality requirements. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols. Skilled in the safe use of welding equipment, hand tools, grinders, and power tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control. Basic math and measurement skills. Reliable, safety-conscious, and team-oriented approach to work. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work throughout the shift. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely operate welding equipment and material handling tools. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots. Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, cold, dust, welding fumes, sparks, and noise.
