In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling steel structures on-site and in the shop, ensuring all work meets strict safety and quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of large-scale projects, from structural steel erection to ductwork and metal fabrication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced tools and techniques in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and safety. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately produce steel components. Perform cutting, welding, and assembly of sheet metal and structural steel using
MIG, TIG, FCAW
(Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) techniques in accordance with AWS standards. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure precise fabrication. Use crane operations and hand tools safely for lifting and positioning heavy steel materials during erection. Measure materials accurately using shop math, measuring instruments, and interpret technical drawings for proper fabrication and assembly. Follow strict safety protocols on construction sites and in fabrication shops to maintain a safe working environment at all times. Assist with the installation of ductwork, metal materials, and mechanical components while adhering to ASME codes & standards. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints. Hands-on experience with welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW in welding standards. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools accurately. Mechanical knowledge of fabrication shop procedures and metal materials used in structural projects. Familiarity with crane operation for lifting heavy steel components safely. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding, fabrication, and construction site activities. Experience working with power tools, plasma cutters, machining equipment, soldering tools, and assembly processes. Knowledge of ASME codes & standards for mechanical fabrication is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and shop math efficiently.
