Full-Time Position Summary The Manual Welder is responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to drawings, work instructions, specifications, and production requirements. The position requires a hands-on approach to producing quality parts safely and efficiently while maintaining required weld quality, dimensions, appearance, and production schedule . Key Responsibilities Welding & Fabrication Perform manual welding using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding processes as required. Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials as specified. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions. Set up welding machines and select appropriate welding parameters. Fit, align, clamp, and tack components before final welding. Perform grinding, cutting, drilling, deburring, and other fabrication operations. Maintain proper weld size, penetration, alignment, and appearance. Verify dimensions using measuring tools and gauges. Make adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications. Production Complete assigned fabrication jobs according to the production schedule. Meet established production quantities and cycle-time expectations. Follow job travelers, drawings, routers, and standard work instructions. Identify production problems and communicate them to the supervisor. Maintain accurate production and job-completion records. Minimize material waste, rework, and scrap. Quality Inspect work before moving parts to the next operation. Identify weld defects, dimensional issues, and material problems. Perform visual inspection of welds.

Use measuring equipment such as:

Tape measures Calipers Micrometers Squares Gauges Correct defects when authorized. Stop and report work that does not meet specifications. Equipment & Workplace Properly operate and maintain welding equipment, grinders, saws, drills, fixtures, and hand tools. Perform basic equipment checks before use. Keep welding equipment and work areas clean and organized. Maintain proper storage of welding consumables and tools. Participate in 2S/5S and continuous improvement activities . Safety Follow all company safety procedures. Properly use required PPE. Follow welding safety procedures. Maintain proper ventilation and fume-control practices. Safely handle cylinders, materials, and welding equipment. Follow lockout/tagout procedures when required. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous welding/fabrication experience preferred. Ability to read basic engineering drawings and weld symbols. Ability to use basic measuring equipment. Ability to operate welding and fabrication equipment safely. Welding certification preferred but not required depending on position requirements. Wear required PPE throughout the shift.
