Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding and fabrication tasks on various metal materials, ensuring adherence to safety standards and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW processes. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine project requirements. Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding), TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS standards. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, and hand tools. Measure and verify dimensions with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precision. Use machining tools and techniques to prepare parts for welding or assembly. Follow safety protocols rigorously during all fabrication activities to maintain a safe work environment. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks involving assembly and installation of metal structures. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to ASME codes & standards for quality assurance. Requirements Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops involving metalwork. Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting engineering specifications. Strong knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Familiarity with construction materials such as sheet metal, structural steel, and other metals used in fabrication. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment safely and effectively. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers. Understanding of ASME codes & standards relevant to fabrication work. Experience with construction projects involving crane operation or heavy lifting is advantageous. Basic math skills for shop calculations and fabrication measurements.
