- Position SummaryThe Welder A
- Fitter performs welding and fit-up work to produce quality welds that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
This position requires the ability to read blueprints, select appropriate welding processes, set up welding equipment, fit and position materials, and inspect completed welds. The ideal candidate is an experienced welder who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a production team. Welder A

- Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specificationsSet up and operate welding machines and related equipmentAdjust amperage, voltage, slope, pulse, and other settings as requiredInspect welding machines, cables, and equipment before useDetermine appropriate welding processes, positions, and fixtures based on job requirementsFit, position, and weld materials according to specificationsMaintain proper arc length, travel speed, and weld techniqueMonitor weld puddle, bead appearance, and fusion during weldingSelect efficient welding methods based on material and job requirementsInspect completed welds for proper bead size, cracks, defects, and overall qualityRepair welds when necessaryGrind and clean welds, slag, and spatterClean, grind, and degrease parts before and after weldingSafely operate manlifts and cranes for material handling and positioningMaintain a clean and organized work areaFollow all safety procedures and PPE requirementsCommunicate welding or production issues to supervisorsPerform other duties as assignedWelder A•Fitter•Additional QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredExperience with structural or industrial welding preferred
