Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator/Fitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and fitting metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction projects, fabrication shop assignments, and on-site assembly tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse materials and techniques, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced environment. Duties Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine specifications and procedures. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Fabricate metal structures, sheet metal components, piping systems, and other assemblies using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment. Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and blueprint measurements to ensure precise fabrication. Assemble fabricated parts on-site or in the shop by fitting components together with mechanical knowledge and proper alignment techniques. Use construction site experience to adapt fabrication processes for on-site installation, including pipe threading and assembly tasks. Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols, handling materials properly, and adhering to construction safety standards at all times. Skills Extensive experience with construction sites, metal fabrication shops, and on-site assembly projects. Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting mechanical blueprints accurately. Skilled in various welding processes including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, pipe threading, plasma cutting, machining, and assembly techniques. Ability to operate measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for precise fabrication measurements. Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication shop practices, and construction site requirements. Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, safety protocols, and construction site safety standards. Good understanding of shop math and basic math skills necessary for accurate measurements and calculations. Experience interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for mechanical fabrication projects. Knowledge of American Welding Society (AWS) standards for quality assurance in welding practices.
