Welder and Fabricator Job Description The Welder and Fabricator will read and interpret blueprints, lay out materials, fabricate components to specification, and weld assemblies for a wide range of custom projects. Work includes structural steel, miscellaneous metals, concrete forms, and ornamental iron, with welding and fabrication methods varying by project in a dynamic fabrication job shop environment.

Shift and Pay First Shift:

5 am

• 1:30 pm, when running OT hours are 5 am
• 3:30 pm

Pay:

$25

• 35/hr depending on experience and weld test Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to understand project requirements and specifications.

Lay out, fit, and assemble metal components and structures in accordance with prints and shop drawings. Perform welding using MIG, Flux Core, and TIG processes, as required by each project. Fabricate parts to print, ensuring accuracy, proper dimensions, and high-quality workmanship. Set up and operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, iron workers, and plasma tables to cut, form, and shape materials. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move materials, components, and finished assemblies within the shop. Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet quality and appearance standards. Assist in the paint area as needed, including preparing fabricated parts for finishing. Use measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances throughout the fabrication and welding process. Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working with welding and fabrication equipment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and complete projects on time. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and workstations.
