B163 Welder Job Responsibilities Perform MIG and MMA welding on various components and materials. Weld components according to established welding procedures and quality standards. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications . Accurately read and use a tape measure. Perform grinding and prepare steel surfaces for welding. Preheat steel using a torch when required. Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to safely move materials. Perform visual inspections of completed welds. Complete required welding qualification and weld testing. Identify defects, quality issues, or non-conformities and report them appropriately. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding and production area. Follow all company safety procedures and welding safety requirements. Work independently while meeting production and quality expectations. Welder Qualifications Previous professional welding experience is required . Experience with MIG and MMA welding required. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or blueprints. Ability to read a tape measure quickly and accurately. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds . Comfortable working an 8-hour shift in a warm manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds. Ability to minimize scrap and maintain production standards. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Safety-conscious and able to follow established welding and workplace safety procedures.
