Job Duties Read engineering drawings, specifications, work orders, and job travelers. Prepare, position, align, and set up components for orbital welding. Safely set up and operate semi-automatic orbital welding equipment. Inspect finished welds for discoloration, defects, and other quality concerns. Identify faulty components and report quality issues. Follow established welding procedures and production requirements. Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records. Maintain an organized, safe, and clean 5S work area. Coordinate with team members regarding equipment and component needs. Maintain productivity while consistently meeting quality standards. Education Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience Requirements Welding fundamentals gained through one or more of the following: Welding trade or technical program Welding apprenticeship Previous welding employment Strong attention to detail. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to understand measurements and basic manufacturing math. Ability to read or learn to read engineering drawings and work instructions. Good time-management skills and the ability to maintain production flow. Ability to follow detailed procedures consistently and repetitively. A Orbital Welder fabricates and repairs metal assemblies using MIG welding techniques while supporting quality manufacturing operations. The Orbital Welder combines blueprint interpretation, welding equipment setup, material preparation, and quality inspection to produce finished components that meet engineering specifications.
