Full Job Description Position:

Summary:
An Advanced Welder knows the GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes. Welder's qualifications are per ASME Section 9. This role is required to perform fitting and grinding as necessary. Advanced Welders read and interpret drawings to fabricate and assemble metal products. A welder's job is important as it provides the foundation for the high-quality finished products in which Woven Metal Products prides itself.

Minimum 40 hours, seasonally increases up to 80 hours a week with many weeks averaging 45-50 hours
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW welding Perform fitting as required Prep material for welding (i.e., beveling) Set up welding machine and wire feeder Calculate dimensions and prepare appropriate equipment and materials Read and interpret drawings Ability to qualify for all in-house weld procedures Plan the fabrication strategy for parts assigned Consistently produce acceptable weld quality with minimum imperfections Maintain cleanliness and neatness of work area Keep equipment in excellent working condition and follow all clean-up routines Properly track job task through the shop using the job traveler system Arrive at work on-time and consistently clock in and out Observe safety procedures at all times Utilize appropriate amount of materials and supplies, maintaining awareness of scrap and working to minimize when possible Execute any and all tasks assigned by supervisor Uphold leadership values of integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration; displaying respect and a positive attitude in all interactions with the team
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Completed level-specific apprenticeship and/or vocational training preferred One year as Specialty/Combo Welder or equivalent experience Relevant welding certification and knowledge of weld symbols Ability to pass GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and FCAW weld tests Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely Thorough understanding of weld procedures (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) and other specifications Understanding of visual weld inspections Ability to prepare material for welding, to read drawings, fit materials, and weld Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely Competence in math, mechanical skills, and measuring utilizing measuring devices Knowledge of welding machinery, wire feeder, and consumables required Capable to stand and be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time Attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operations issues Effective communication skills including active listening and taking instruction Ability to model, teach, and promote Woven Metal Product's core values of reliable quality, a partnership attitude, and attention to detail
