Job Description

The Welder I will join the team to execute standard welds and fabrication duties on a variety of equipment and components. Working under general supervision, the incumbent will adhere to company safety standards and welding procedures, handling routine assignments while receiving direction for any advanced or non‑routine tasks. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completed welding apprenticeship or vocational training program. AWS (American Welding Society) certification preferred. Minimum 1 year of hands‑on welding experience in an industrial setting. Proficiency with MIG, TIG, and SMAW welding processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols. Strong understanding of safety practices and OSHA regulations. Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity. Reliable attendance and ability to work varied shifts as needed. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on assigned projects according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders. Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding. Inspect welds for quality and compliance with standards, making adjustments as needed. Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working condition. Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment. Document work performed, including weld logs and inspection reports. Assist senior welders with complex or non‑routine welding tasks. Clean and finish welded assemblies to meet surface preparation requirements. Participate in routine safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
