Shop Foreman / Management Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our industrial repair and fabrication team. This is a hands-on position for someone who is comfortable working on a wide variety of materials, equipment, and custom projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick/Arc welding and have experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum . This position requires someone who can do more than production welding—we need a skilled fabricator who can evaluate a job, determine the best approach, fit and fabricate components, and produce strong, clean, professional-quality work. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick/Arc welding on industrial repair and fabrication projects. Weld and fabricate carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other common metals . Fabricate components from drawings, measurements, samples, or existing equipment. Perform layout, fitting, cutting, grinding, drilling, forming, and assembly. Repair damaged, cracked, broken, or worn industrial components and structures. Fabricate and modify frames, bases, equipment stands, skids, guards, brackets, platforms, structural components, tanks, machine components, and custom industrial assemblies. Properly prepare materials and joints before welding. Select appropriate welding processes, filler materials, settings, and techniques based on the application. Inspect completed welds for penetration, strength, appearance, and overall quality. Identify material or fabrication problems and determine appropriate corrective action. Safely operate welding machines, plasma cutters, torches, grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipment. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Work with other departments on industrial equipment repair and custom fabrication projects. Complete jobs accurately while meeting customer deadlines and production schedules. Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional welding/fabrication experience preferred. Strong proficiency with MIG welding . Strong proficiency with TIG welding . Experience with Stick/Arc welding . Demonstrated ability to TIG weld aluminum . Experience welding stainless and carbon steel. Strong fabrication and fitting skills. Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, measurements, and basic technical drawings. Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring equipment. Ability to determine proper welding techniques and machine settings for different materials and thicknesses. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot fabrication challenges. Strong attention to weld quality, fit, finish, and workmanship. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industrial equipment repair and rebuilding. Experience with heavier industrial fabrication. Experience fabricating from an existing part or sample when a detailed drawing is not available. Experience with plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting. Experience with machining or metalworking equipment. Experience with hydraulic, motor, pump, gearbox, or other industrial equipment fabrication/repair is a plus. Welding certifications are a plus but are not a substitute for demonstrated hands-on ability . Multilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Spanish or Farsi language skills are especially valued and considered a plus for effectively communicating with and supporting our diverse workforce. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a true welder/fabricator , not someone limited to repetitive production welding. The right candidate should be comfortable being handed a damaged component, drawing, sample, or fabrication request and figuring out how to complete the job correctly. They should be capable of switching between different welding processes and materials depending on the project. Quality and versatility are extremely important. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate their welding ability during the interview process, including MIG and TIG welding and, when applicable, aluminum welding.
