Inc. designs and manufactures specialized physical abilities testing equipment used by law enforcement agencies, correctional organizations, training academies, and colleges across the US. We have just opened our US company after operating in Canada for the past 13 years. Our operational facility is in Tomball Texas and we are looking for an experienced Welder / Metal Fabricator to join our small team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building complete products rather than performing the same weld repeatedly on a production line. Our work involves a variety of steel and aluminum components and requires accuracy, problem-solving ability, and pride in workmanship. Position Overview The Welder / Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating components and assemblies from mild steel and aluminum using MIG and TIG welding processes. The successful candidate should be comfortable working independently from drawings, measurements, samples, and established fabrication procedures. Because we are a small manufacturing operation, we are looking for someone with broad fabrication skills who is willing to participate in the complete manufacturing process.

Typical materials include:

Mild steel, generally 1/8" to 1/4" thick Aluminum, generally 1/8" to 3/16" thick Steel and aluminum tubing, plate, sheet, and structural components Responsibilities MIG weld mild steel components and assemblies TIG weld aluminum and mild steel components Measure, cut, fit, tack, weld, and finish fabricated parts Read and work from drawings, dimensions, templates, and existing components Accurately lay out fabrication work prior to cutting and welding Operate metal fabrication equipment including band saws, cold saws, drill presses, and related shop equipment Drill, bore, and tap components as required Use welding fixtures and fabrication tables to produce consistent parts Inspect completed work for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and overall workmanship Perform grinding, deburring, cleanup, and finishing as required Assist with product assembly when needed Maintain an organized and safe work area Perform routine care and basic maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment Assist with material handling and forklift operations as required Help identify better or more efficient fabrication methods as our U.S. manufacturing operation develops Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication and welding Strong MIG welding skills Strong TIG welding experience Ability to weld both steel and aluminum Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, calipers, and other measuring tools Ability to fit and fabricate components accurately before welding Ability to read fabrication drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances Understanding of weld preparation, joint fit-up, distortion control, and proper welding technique Ability to operate common metalworking tools and equipment safely Ability to work independently with limited supervision Strong attention to detail Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work alone and unsupervised Preferred Qualifications Several years of professional welding/fabrication experience Experience TIG welding aluminum Experience fabricating tubing, plate, and structural components Experience working in a small manufacturing or fabrication shop Experience with drill presses, band saws, cold saws, press brakes, and similar equipment Experience building complete assemblies rather than performing only production welding Formal welding certification is welcome but is not required . Demonstrated ability and quality of workmanship are more important to us than certificates alone. Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This is a full-time, day-shift position based at our Tomball, Texas manufacturing facility. Occasional overtime may be available or required depending on production demand. Compensation $25.00-$35.00 per hour Starting wage will depend on experience, fabrication knowledge, and demonstrated welding ability. Candidates will be asked to complete a practical welding/fabrication skills test as part of the hiring process.
