  • Position Overview
  • We are seeking experienced Traveling Welders/Fabricators to join a custom metal fabrication facility in Fargo, ND.

This is not a production welding role. The ideal candidate will be a true combo welder/fabricator who can read blueprints, lay out material, fit assemblies together, and complete quality welds with minimal supervision. The majority of the work involves carbon steel fabrication, with occasional stainless steel projects. Candidates must be comfortable taking a blueprint, planning the layout, fitting material, and performing Pulse MIG welding throughout the fabrication process.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Read and interpret fabrication blueprints and drawings + Lay out material according to specifications and dimensions shown on prints + Fit, tack, and assemble fabricated components prior to welding + Perform Pulse MIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel materials + Set welding machine parameters based on material type and thickness + Fabricate and weld custom metal assemblies to blueprint specifications + Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and maintain quality standards + Inspect completed work for accuracy and weld quality + Maintain a safe and organized work area •Qualifications•+ Previous welding and fabrication experience required + Strong blueprint reading skills + Experience laying out and fitting material from prints + Pulse MIG welding experience preferred + Carbon steel welding experience required + Stainless steel welding experience preferred + Ability to work independently with minimal direction + Strong understanding of fabrication processes and measurement techniques + Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, and other layout tools •Weld Test / Skills Assessment•Candidates must successfully complete a hands-on weld and fabrication test that includes: •Welding Test•+ Pulse MIG welding using .

045 wire

+ Primarily flat and downhill welding positions

+ Candidate must independently set machine parameters based on material requirements

+ Welds will be visually inspected for quality and consistency

  • Fabrication Test
  • + Candidate will be provided a blueprint + Must lay out material according to print specifications + Measure, fit, and prepare material accurately + Demonstrate the ability to interpret drawings and fabricate components based on provided dimensions
  • What We're Looking For
  • This position is best suited for a welder who can also fabricate. We need someone who understands the entire process, from reading the print and laying out material to fitting, welding, and completing the final assembly. Candidates who have only production welding experience and limited fabrication exposure may not be the best fit.

  • Monday-Saturday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AM

  • $150/day paid 7 days per week

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $35.

00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
