For this role, we are looking for someone who can fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. In addition, we need someone who can provide assistance to workers, such as pier installers, barge operators, landscapers, carpenters, or heavy equipment operators. Welding Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate production. Perform various welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and other hand tools to ensure precise cuts, measurements, and fit-up of metal materials. Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal components using plasma cutters, machining tools, and fabrication equipment. Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine dimensions, materials, and fabrication methods required for each project. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper handling of welding gases, power tools, and heavy machinery. Collaborate with team members on construction site projects or fabrication shop tasks to meet project deadlines efficiently. Welding Skills Extensive experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops involving metalwork. MIG welding experience is required (technical degree without experience, acceptable) Proficiency in multiple welding techniques:

MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW

; familiarity with welding standards preferred. Strong ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications accurately. Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools. Experience operating an Ironworker Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Experience with plasma cutting, machining processes, and the use of power tools for fabrication tasks. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and heavy equipment handling; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Ability to perform shop math accurately for measurements and calculations essential for fabrication projects. Crew Responsibilities & Skills Work with power and hand tools and various types of hardware. Work in the water, in waders, in spring, summer and fall. Work outside year round. Position, join, and align components, such as pier frames, stones and landscaping materials. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Measure, mark, or record distances to layout areas where work will be performed. Record repairs made, time spent, and parts used. Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, to be distributed to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications. Tend compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment to work with or move materials. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Additional Requirements Must have reliable transportation Must be able to lift 50lb

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
