Pipe Fitter Granite Peak Fabrication's purpose is to design and build the best processing equipment for multiple energy sectors. We are currently seeking four Code Pipe Welder / Pipe Fitters to join our team, with two positions available for the day shift and two for the night shift. A competitive $6.00 per hour shift differential applies to the night shift roles. These roles require strong pipe fitting skills and a deep understanding of weld preparation to ensure high-quality weld performance.
Minimum Job Requirements:
MUST be able to pass a weld test.
Specifically:
6G Pipe welder must pass a 6G test on 2.5" xxh pipe that includes 2 face bends and 2 root bends us GMAW root and FCAW fills and cap.
1+ years' experience with
GMAW, GTAW & FCAW
code pipe welding
Strong pipe fitting experience with precision fit-up for automated welding
Knowledge of joint design, bevel geometry, and root gap control per WPS
Experience with GMAW
Ability to maintain 3/32" gap and 1/16" land consistently
Ability to perform precision grinding and tack preparation
Pass 1G weld test with GMAW
Pre-employment drug test required Pipe Fitting Preparation
Perform precision pipe fit-up including bevel, gap, land, and alignment
Execute full penetration tack welds using GMAW
Perform tack prep including grinding, feathering, and ramping
Clean pipe surfaces prior to welding
Verify all fit-ups meet WPS and ASME standards
Inspect dimensional requirements and welds prior to QA/QC inspection.
Able to fabricate off of blueprints with little or no help.
Work in a safe and efficient manner.
Report to shop Foreman on any issues/problems that arise and work with them to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Maintain a high level of production with little to no rework.
Ability to read a tape measure and fabricate products within 0.00" tolerance. Skills & Knowledge

All 9" grinders are company-supplied

Can you consistently complete approximately 20 two-inch welds per shift while maintaining 100% RT acceptance or the equivalent of roughly 150 linear weld inches per shift? Are you able to maintain a sustained production rate of approximately 150 RT-accepted linear weld inches per shift, with weld repairs/rework not counted toward your production total? Based on your normal, sustained production rate—not your best production day—approximately how many RT-accepted linear weld inches can you consistently complete per shift?
